Three more awards!! We just won Bronze awards for our LaLa Plunger, LaLa Organic and LaLa Decaf in the 2009 NZ Coffee Expo against 63 other companies. Alright!!!
Coffee LaLa is a boutique, artisan coffee roasting business established in 2002 by Nedilka Radojkovich & Mark Tugendhaft on the Coromandel Penninsula in a secluded bush clad valley. We take our time and do it right.
We are proud to have won seven awards in the New Zealand Coffee Festival competitions 2004,2006 and 2009, where the best New Zealand roasting houses competed. In 2004, our Fair Trade Organic blend won the Silver award for Best Organic and in September 2009 it won Bronze against an even larger field of competitors. OooLaLa won the Bronze award for Best Flat White Blend 2004. In 2006, we won the Gold for Best Decaf and the Bronze for Best Plunger/Filter blend with our LaLa blend.These two each just won Bronze awards in the 2009 NZ Coffee Roasting Competition.
Science plus Art equals great coffee
Roasting great coffee is a mixture of art and science. It begins with careful attention to and the complete understanding of each of our coffee origins. Coffee plantations world wide, produce green beans of a character individual to their specific location,soil and climate.
At Coffee LaLa we roast a selection of beans originating from a number of countries to create our hand-crafted blends. Our 100% Arabica beans are sourced from the World's best plantations and roasted with individual care. We are super proud of our award winning Fair Trade Organic. You should try it.
We have learned how to roast each coffee origin individually to nurture them so that each reaches its full expression of flavour and character. This requires a specific roasting sequence for each. After this stage, we blend different origins to create a full bodied coffee with a complex and yummy taste. This is the secret to creating our 'insanely good' coffee. Not every coffee company does it this way this. It is more difficult,takes longer and costs more to do.
Here at LaLa we pride ourselves on our quick and personal service. Each day, we blend,bag and post fresh to our home customers, restaurants and cafes. We can custom blend for you too. Imagine opening your mail box to find fresh roasted coffee or your choice.
